8 Local Vegan Products You Might Not Know Existed

November 04, 2017

https://www.vegansociety.com/take-action/campaigns/world-vegan-monthWe were happy to celebrate World Vegan Day on November 1, which kicked off World Vegan Month, a month that “recognise[s] how far the vegan movement has come, to highlight how accessible and beneficial a vegan lifestyle can be and to encourage the vegan-curious to adopt veganism by sharing advice, recipes and ideas” (The Vegan Society).

According to The Vegan Society, World Vegan Day began in 1994 and has been a widely celebrated phenomenon since.

An article on the Brief History of Veganism shines light on the establishment of veganism and its up and coming prominence within society. What began in 1944 as a term to highlight one’s dietary preferences has since evolved into a rapidly growing community made up of liked minded individuals bound by similar belief systems and lifestyles.

Since 1944 however, the market for vegan substitutes and alternatives has erupted, with more options available than ever before.

What better time than World Vegan Month to highlight not only a selection of vegan products but vegan products that are local. Below are just eight of the incredible local, vegan products that exist:

1. Goat-Style Firm VegNature Vromages

This vegan styled goat cheese, which tastes incredibly similar to actual goat cheese, is made entirely from cashews, and comes from VegNature, a Quebec based company, founded in 2014.

2. rND Bakery
