Beat Cold & Flu Season

February 26, 2018

The FluWatch report from the Government of Canada for February 4 to February 10, 2018 (week 6) indicates that “overall, influenza activity in Canada remains at peak levels” (Government of Canada, 2018). The report summarizes that the number of “detections of influenza A are within expected levels for this time of year, however, circulation of influenza B is greater than observed during the past seven seasons” (Government of Canada, 2018).

While the weather may be turning warmer, flu season, which runs from late fall to early spring, is still in full force. The Government of Ontario states that frequent hand washing, covering your mouth when sneezing or coughing, avoiding touching your face, staying home when sick and cleaning and disinfecting shared work surfaces and items are effective strategies to avoid getting and spreading viruses (Government of Ontario, 2018).

However, when and if the flu does hit, it’s important to be well equipped with a tool box (or in this case, drawer or cabinet) of products to help you get back on your feet.

We’ve enlisted the assistance of Melissa, our Supplements and Health & Beauty Supervisor at our Britannia location, to bring you a selection of products for adults and a few designed specifically with children in mind to help prevent and fight the cold and flu.
